Our Story

The Informed Generation was started by Ben Landricombe, an A level student from South Devon. He grew up with a passion for understanding how things work, how the systems and politics that govern our countries go on to shape our daily lives. In the last 3 years Ben has started to translate that passion into meaningful knowledge and from this he has realised the power of education. Through educating young people we are able to inspire and motivate the next generation.

As young people we often hear that we are change for the future, but without the necessary understanding it becomes difficult for young people to make that difference. Political uneducation is one of the biggest problems our world is faced with. In the UK 70% of under 18s cannot name their own MP.  This is not their fault, it's the fault of decades of systemic underfunding, a lack of will from governments to invest in political education. A disengaged system is a system that works for those at the top of our country's decision making. But at The Informed Generation we will not stand for this. We will strive to be the change that this system and our world needs. We will help to educate, inspire and empower young people all over the world.

We want to not only provide meaningful insight but to also listen to the voices of tomorrow. This is a platform for young people to send us their work so that they can learn, grow and gain experience in a field that they are passionate about.

Our mission is simple, to be the change we want to see so that we can help to produce

TRANSPARENCY • EDUCATION • EMPOWERMENT •

Generational empowerment

We believe that by educating the young people of today we are able to provide a better future for the world that we all call home. After all, knowledge is power.

Transparency

Like you, we are young people too. We have no agendas, biases or links to those already in power. We want to be the start of a new wave of logical, evidence based youth journalism that provides young people with a platform to share and grow.

Education
first

By putting education first in all areas of our platform we hope to both inspire and educate. We hope not only to provide valuable reporting but also a means for young people to learn new skills and communicate their passions
